Abstract

Our study aimed to investigate the attitudes of pupils with intellectual disabilities towards physical and sport education in primary education by using a modified PACES questionnaire. The research sample consisted of 21 pupils with intellectual disabilities in the first to fourth year of primary school. The obtained research data were analyzed through a chi-square test, which resulted in statistical significance at 1% and 5% levels of statistical significance. The research results showed that pupils with intellectual disabilities have mostly positive attitudes towards physical and sport education. In the affective, cognitive, and behavioral components, the statistical significance of the responses was dominated by positive attitudes towards physical and sport education. Statements without statistical significance indicate individual preferences and differences in the attitudes of pupils with intellectual disabilities, which may be influenced by several factors.
