Some important feminist films like Ankur (Le semis, 1974) Charulata (Femme solitaire, 1964) et Maya Memsaab (Maya: L’illusion enchanteresse,1993) and have been discussed in this article to have a synoptic view of Indian cinema influenced by Flaubert’s Madame Bovary.
