Design of a hiking trail in the High Tatras

Abstract

The aim of the work was the planning of hiking trail II. Degree of difficulty according to the standards of the Classification of performance tourism in the Slovak Tourist Club in the High Tatras. For planning the individual routes, we chose the Turistická mapa.sk and mapy.cz applications and freely available information on the Internet. Our route starts from Štrbské pleso and ends in Stary Smokovec. The hiking trail as a whole has a length of 101 km with an elevation gain of 8040 m. The first stage is 15.7 km long with an elevation gain of 1203 m and leads from Štrbské pleso through Kôprovský štít to Popradské pleso. The second stage of the credit route is 22.6 km long with an elevation gain of 1,827 m and leads through Rysy back to Popradské pleso and on to Sliezsky dom. The third stage is 13.1 km long with an elevation gain of 1526 m and leads through Východná - Vysoká to Téry's hut. The fourth stage is 18.6 km long with an elevation gain of 852 m and leads to the cottage under Zelený ples. The fifth stage is 17.3 km long with an elevation gain of 1425 m and leads through Jahňací štít to Hrebienok. The last sixth stage passes through Slavkovský štít and ends in Stary Smokovec with a length of 13.7 km and an elevation of 1207 m. In conclusion, we can state that we managed to design the hiking trail II. degree of difficulty that can be performed as a whole or divided into two separate parts.
