Abstract

The author deals with the question of the origin, development, and results of the Hungarian Table Tennis Association in Czechoslovakia (CsMATSz), which operated in Slovakia in the interwar period. Table tennis was very popular with the Hungarian youth. The players from Polgári Torna Egyesület (PTE) were among the best in Slovakia. In the 1930/1931 season, PTE became the club champion of Czechoslovakia in mixed teams. It was the first unit from Slovakia to achieve such a result. There were also several representatives of Czechoslovakia from PTE, but they did not make much of an impact on the international scene. CsMATSz organized its own championships for individuals and mixed teams.
