Components of health-oriented fitness in physical education standard verification

Abstract

The current concept of school physical education emphasizes the support of lifelong physical activity. In this regard, the focus on health-oriented fitness and its aspects is also important. The presented theoretical article deals with the connection of physical education standards and health-oriented fitness within the practice of elementary school. In addition to the analysis and description of the connection between the two concepts, the results of the knowledge tasks focused on the mentioned issue of fitness and standard are presented. At the end of the text, a proposal for the evaluation of health-oriented fitness with regard to the verification of the standard of physical education is outlined. Active behavior, aptitude test and knowledge test are the basic tools in verification. The article contributes to the enrichment of the didactics of physical education and provides elementary data for further research into the standards of physical education.
