Interest in physical activities performed in free time among students from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Comenius University in Bratislava

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to point out several questions related to the lifestyle of university students in the context of their exercise and sports activities. The findings regarding of the lifestyle and selected aspects of physical activity of female and male students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Comenius University Bratislava are presented. The research group consisted of 1093 respondents (898 girls and 195 boys) with an average age of 19.25 + 0.93 years. The ad hoc questionnaire was used to obtain empirical data. The results were interpreted at the level of percentage analysis. The fundamental finding of the survey was a significant disproportion between sedentary activities and walking during the day of students at the university. Currently, 81.15% of respondents engaged in physical activity in their free time. In addition to physical education, the largest percentage of respondents participated in other physical activity 1 – 2 times a week, while the category of moderate to easy intensity was the most represented.
