Dialogue between past and present in FFL lessons through literary texts
Abstract
The dynamics of certain literary texts proposed in French as a foreign language courses and its culture are created by a double movement: that of several ideas which become current again in other historical periods, often very distant from one another, and that of the cultural transfer between an authentic text and the process of learning a foreign language. This article focuses on the mediation of cultural transfer. The works of students enrolled in a didactically oriented French literature course, which is part of a Master’s programme for training teachers of French as a foreign language, are analysed from the point of view of a dialogue between past and present and the circulation of reading objectives.
