Verbal aspectuality in Spanish and Slovak (Czech)
Abstract
This paper compares verbal aspect in Spanish and Slovak (Czech), highlighting differences in aspect expression and application. It analyzes the contrast between perfective and imperfective forms, the importance of the aktionsart of the verb, verb categories, telic and atelic verbs and the possibility of combination of aspect and duration in both languages. These differences should be addressed during the pedagogical process because they can lead to the incorrect use of verbal formas by Slovak (Czech) students of Spanish.
