Eches of Decameron in a Francesco Pona’s tale
Abstract
The article presents a comparison between the tale of Lisabetta da Messina by Giovanni Boccaccio and La levatrice di Ancona, written in XVII century by Francesco Pona. Both tales develop the theme of the defense of family honor and the plot is also similar, however the story is developed by the two authors with different narrative methods and feelings. The article focuses on these similarities and differences.
