Abstract

This article is part of the Spanish in Europe interdisciplinary research project, which is coordinated by the Heidelberg Centre for Ibero-American Studies (Heidelberg University) and the University of Zurich in collaboration with the Cervantes Institute. Following the demolinguistic methods of the project, the first results concerning Spanish language teaching in Slovakia between 2000 and 2018 are provided in terms of primary and secondary education. As a result of this first approach, some trends and evolutionary perspectives of the teaching of Spanish in comparison with other foreign languages taught in Slovakia are outlined.
