Abstract

In this work we investigate the syntactic structures shown by the verbs of perception in Luigi Pirandello’s novel Il fu Mattia Pascal. Although this novel dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, and can thus be considered contemporary, its use of verbs of perception it shows some peculiar features from the point of view of modern Italian syntax. During our analysis, we tried to explore more deeply the logic of verbs of perception in Pirandello’s novel.
