Abstrakt

The study of Portuguese spoken in the Atlantic island territories of Madeira and the Azores has been developed in various scientific areas. The results of this research are part of the Atlas Multimédia Prosódico do Espaço Românico (AMPER), which aims to compare the varieties of Romance languages from a prosodic point of view, following its own methodology. The project for the Portuguese language, AMPER-POR, covers European and Brazilian Portuguese. This research is based on historical data about the settlement of Madeira. The aim is to compare the prosodic distances between two varieties from two continental regions, Minho and Algarve, with the Portuguese spoken in Madeira and Porto Santo.
