About the Journal

Graecolatina et Orientalia (GLO), a series of scholarly volumes published by the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University Bratislava, was established in 1969 through the efforts of the classical philologist Miloslav Okál and the Arabist Ladislav Drozdík. The series is dedicated to publishing scholarly work in the broadly defined fields of classical philology and Oriental studies.

Studies and reviews are published exclusively in major international languages, enabling the authors, primarily members of staff of the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University Bratislava, to present the results of their research to an international scholarly audience. The high scholarly standard of the series is also reflected in the fact that, shortly after its establishment, bibliographic records of its studies began to appear in the international bibliography L’Année philologique.

Graecolatina et Orientalia undoubtedly ranks among the most significant scholarly contributions to the humanities in Slovakia.
