Gender differences in the cultural concept of biography: work and marriage in the life stories of people from a village in eastern Slovakia

This article presents the analysis and interpretation of life stories of men and women in a particular cultural environment in relation to the theoretical explanations of autobiographical memory. The author aims to establish the difference between the cultural concept of biography of men and the cultural concept of biography of women who were born before 1950 in the
village of Žakarovce.
