Abstrakt

Národopis / ethnography and folkloristics / ethnology and cultural anthropology was among the first subjects that were taught at the Faculty of Philosophy in the year 1921, the year Comenius University was founded. Thus we commemorate two major anniversaries this year - 90 years since the establishment of the University, and the existence of a subject of study called národopis, this being the very first university in Czechoslovakia where the subject was taught. This major anniversary is the reason for a special volume of international periodical Etnologia Slovaca et Slavica, under the editorship of the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology, since 1969.
