Das mährische historische Bewußtsein und die tschechische Nationalität
Abstract
Moravia: a historical region in the eastern part of the Czech Republic. Settled by Slavs since the 6th century, who founded the Great Moravian Empire at the beginning of the 9th century.
The development of national consciousness in Moravia began with the suppression of the Great Moravian tradition. Today's historical consciousness of the inhabitants of Moravia is based on the concept of Moravianism as 1. a special branch of the Czech nation, 2. as an independent nation.
The traditions of the Czechoslovak friendship have become the basis for regular meetings of Czechs, Moravians and Slovaks on the Moravian-Slovak border since the end of the last century and are still the pillar of folklore festivals in southern and eastern Moravia. Moravia participates in the development of the basic sources of European culture.
