Morphological analysis of the texts of folk ballads. An attempt at constructing a pattern according to the system of V. Propp.
Abstract
600 texts of Czech, Moravian, Slovak and Carpathian ballads provided the basis for a proposal for the elaboration of the morphological formula of the folk ballad. 25 basic functions, which can be divided into introductory functions, functions indicating the plot relationships of the main characters - arctants and revelation in the plot, made it possible to obtain the resulting formula - aj Robj R7R+. This essentially confirms the validity of the previous hypothesis that for a ballad, from a morphological point of view, the functions generally dominant are the function of the starting situation and the function of the predominance of disadvantage over advantage of arctants.
