Ku genéze Polívkovho Súpisu slovenských rozprávok
Abstract
The work associated with the name of Czech Slavist Jiří Polívka in the area of Slovak prose tradition is still undervalued in Slovakia, although his editions with critical commentaries as well as his comparative studies are of fundamental importance on a European or world scale, but especially for Slovak folkloristics. J. Polívka was born in 1858 in Enns, Austria, but after his studies and habilitation as professor of Slavic philology, his life developed and evolved in Prague.
