Andrej Kmeť v spomienkach - k vytváraniu obrazu kultúrneho hrdinu.
Abstract
In 2001, we commemorated the 160th anniversary of the birth of Andrej Kmeť (1841 - 1908), a Catholic priest who, however, entered the history of culture and science of Slovakia primarily as a botanist, archaeologist, mineralogist, ethnographer and organizer of scientific life - he was a leading figure in the founding of the Slovak National Museum.
The article presents parts of the collected memoirs about A. Kmeť. It guides the reader through the gradual formation of his image from the perspective of ordinary residents, his believers, but also from the perspective of his colleagues, family, and classmates.
