The family in the process of re-emigration to Slovakia from 1946 to 1948

Abstract

This article will deal with the role of the family and transformations in the family and family relations during the process of migration. We followed the stories of families who participated in the population exchange from the areas of southeastern and northern Hungary to the southern and mining areas of central Slovakia in the period before the resettlement (1st half of the 20th century), during the resettlement (1946 – 1948), and in the early days of life after resettlement in Slovakia (until the 1960s).
