Ficciones del control: formas de manipulación en la distopía española contemporánea
Abstrakt
This study aims to analyse the theme of manipulation in three contemporary Spanish dystopian works: Ciudad sin estrellas (2011) by Montse de Paz, El imperio de Yegorov (2014) by Manuel Moyano, and Círculos (2016) by Manuel Ríos San Martín. Through a close examination of selected passages from these novels, the study investigates the varying manifestations of societal control, focusing on how manipulation is employed by different power structures. The analysis draws on recent methodologies in dystopian literature, particularly those addressing biopolitics, media manipulation, and the role of technology in shaping public perception. Each novel is placed within its specific narrative and ideological framework, highlighting the differences in how the texts explore themes such as governmental control, corporate power, and media influence. The study also considers the ethical and philosophical implications of these forms of manipulation, examining the way they challenge traditional notions of autonomy and freedom. Finally, the study classifies the novels according to their respective approaches to dystopian narrative, providing a deeper understanding of the relationship between literature, power, and resistance in contemporary Spanish fiction.
