Language biographies, which trace the history of an individual's language learning, are valuable tools in language education. They enable students to understand the processes of language learning, develop their learning strategies, and reflect on their linguistic journey. By integrating the biographical perspective into language teaching, educators acknowledge the importance of learners as unique individuals, thus fostering their autonomy and engagement. The use of language biographies can contribute to creating a more authentic and motivating learning environment. Pluralistic approaches represent any "pedagogical approach in which the learner simultaneously works on several languages" (Candelier, 2003: 19-20). In a complex and constantly evolving world, pluralistic approaches can be particularly useful in addressing the challenges we face. They encourage open-mindedness, curiosity, creativity, and respect for differences. Utilizing pluralistic approaches in the classroom, based on students' language biographies, helps justify the connection between the development of plurilingual competence, plurilingual education, and pluralistic approaches. In this article, we aim to analyze a corpus of linguistic biographies collected from high school students in a rural school in the Dobrogea region, Romania, to demonstrate the complexity of students' linguistic profiles and thus justify the introduction of pluralistic approaches in the classroom.
