Špecifiká prekladu odbornej terminológie z oblasti psychológie a psychiatrie zo španielčiny do slovenčiny

Abstrakt

The aim of this article is to analyse the psychological terminology found in two Spanish scientific magazines: Clínica y Salud and Actas Españolas de Psiquiatría. The article consists of two main parts. In the first part, it provides some examples of psychological terms which can be unclear, ambiguous, or act as “false friends”. Moreover, it offers some advice on how to find the appropriate Slovak equivalent and it underlines the importance of Anglicisms in this process. In the second part, the article deals with some examples of psychodiagnostic tools, such as the titles of questionnaires, which may not always have a Slovak equivalent. It also gives some advice on how to translate them and what we should be careful about. The whole text emphasizes the importance of Anglicisms and English abbreviations in translation into Slovak. Thanks to them, it is possible to verify whether we have found a correct equivalent or not.
