Vizuálna podpora v podobe uceleného textu v didaktickom procese simultánneho tlmočenia
Abstrakt
The present paper deals with the research of simultaneous interpreting with visual support in the form of a consolidated text in the context of the didactic process. Despite the relatively frequent use of this technique in practice, there has been little empirical research conducted in our geographical context. Out of this necessity, we carried out a pilot project entitled Vizuálna podpora v podobe uceleného textu v didaktickom procese simultánneho tlmočenia with financial support from the CU Grant scheme in 2018. The written text in the booth is supposed to have a supporting function during the perception and analysis of information, but at the same time it requires more effort in the field of split attention. Thus, the absence of specific training for the mentioned technique may lead to undesirable syntactic and content shifts. The research was carried out on MA students of translation and interpretation. In this paper, we observe phenomena related exclusively to interpreting from Spanish into Slovak, which is their mother tongue. We strive to reveal in which way students are able to cope with the simultaneous perception of information from two different sources (acoustic and visual) and what attitude they take in the case of differing contents from these two sources.
