Vitalité néologique dans la chronique algérienne d’expression française

Abstrakt

In this contribution, we propose to examine the morphosemantic potential of neologisms and the semantic-pragmatic mechanisms underlying them in a French-speaking Algerian chronicle. Created by columnists spontaneously to satisfy an immediate need, these neologisms constitute a particularly interesting observatory from the point of view of the use that journalists make of the language as well as of the linguistic system subordinated to this use. They provide valuable information on the speaker's perception of the
morphological system of his language and therefore of his surroundings. After a brief overview of the genre of the Frenchspeaking Algerian chronicle and the method of analysis and corpus constitution, we will focus on a sample of individual productions, while seeking to access the neological feeling of the chroniclers and the unpublished nature of their productions through the schema of lexicogenetic matrices.
